Full-Lifecycle AI Product Engineer (AI-First Product Builder)
Context: This role requires the use of AI tools like Cursor, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot to build real software. You are expected to take ownership of a product from the initial concept through to a deployed solution.
Compensation (Hourly Rate)
- US-based candidates: Starting from $90 USD / hour.
- Europe candidates: Starting from $50 USD / hour.

Role Overview An innovative technology company is seeking a strong engineer who can drive the full lifecycle of feature development while minimizing handoffs between product, design, and engineering functions. This is fundamentally an engineering role combined with product thinking, systems design, and stakeholder communication. It is not a product-only, analyst-only, or no-code position. You will build primarily through AI-enabled engineering workflows while applying strong technical judgment and software engineering fundamentals.
Key Responsibilities
- Software Development: Design and implement APIs, services, integrations, and asynchronous workflows. Create and maintain SQL and NoSQL data models.
- AI-Assisted Delivery: Use AI development tools to accelerate prototyping and feature development. Manage context effectively, review generated outputs, and iterate until solutions meet production standards.
- Systems Design: Design and reason about frontend and backend architecture, APIs, databases, deployment, and failure handling. Make pragmatic architectural decisions balancing speed and scalability.
- Product Discovery & Validation: Engage with stakeholders to clarify goals and translate business needs into practical technical solutions.
- Quality & Risk Management: Test critical workflows, validate assumptions, and identify AI-related risks and security concerns.
What We’re Looking For
- Senior or strong mid-level engineer with demonstrated autonomy and ownership.
- Typically 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, particularly in backend or systems-focused environments.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals across APIs, services, integrations, databases, Git, Docker, and CI/CD.
- Proven experience building MVPs or production features using AI-assisted development tools.
- Ability to guide, validate, and improve AI-generated code rather than relying on it uncritically.
- Excellent English communication skills with confidence in stakeholder-facing environments.
Nice to Have
- Full-stack development experience.
- Experience designing AI-powered user experiences (chat interfaces, copilots, dashboards, or workflow automation tools).
- Exposure to AI product development and AI-enabled software delivery practices.
