Role – Frontend Developer for Space applications

Duties 

• Develop and operate frontend software for space operations, focused on Space Situational Awareness (SSA) and decision support
• Build and maintain dashboards and user interfaces to visualize real-time and near-real-time space data
• Design modular, scalable, and secure frontend architectures
• Create configurable, role-based UIs for operational users and command-centre environments
• Implement visual elements such as alerts, system status, orbital views, timelines, and summaries
• Integrate multiple external and federated space data sources (SST/SSA)
• Support space operations, exercises, and demonstrations with adaptable tools and reporting
• Enable automated reporting and analytics for operational and post-mission use
• Ensure responsive design across platforms, multi-screen, and control-room setups
• Administer and maintain frontend components for availability and performance
• Contribute to assessments on future evolution and improvement of space capabilities

Requirements

• University degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Minimum 2 years professional experience with React.js and/or Angular
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS for data-intensive and real-time applications
• Experience building operational dashboards or command-and-control UIs
• Experience with React ecosystem tools (e.g. Redux, Flux, Webpack)
• Experience with component libraries (e.g. Material-UI)
• Knowledge of testing frameworks (Mocha, Jest)
• Experience with 2D/3D mapping, ideally Cesium
• Understanding of space operations or SSA/SST data (basic level acceptable)
• Analytical and troubleshooting skills in complex data environments
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Strong English communication skills
• Working knowledge of Python (for data handling/integration)
• NATO Secret security clearance
• Full-time, on-site in The Hague, NL

Nice to have

• Experience with NATO environments, exercises, or interoperability
• Familiarity with NATO Software Factory
• Knowledge of systems like ORION, RIGEL, ORBIT
• Interest in growing toward full-stack development
